Easter Weekend

We have had a mostly low key Easter weekend this year.

Yesterday, we started the egg dyeing process. When Jason got home from work.

Amelia was more interested in playing with her new activity table that our friends we visited in MN gave her:

While she played we got our eggs dyed. Then it was time for me to go to work so we put the egg decorating on hold until today. So, tonight after church we attempted to finish our eggs. We got a "shiny" kit with glue and decorative foil that you put on. Well, when we took the eggs out of the fridge tonight it didn't go too well. Condensation built up on them and mixed with the glue and it was just not working, so, Jason had some fun instead:

(note the string of glue in the above picture...)

For our Easter dinner we had ham sandwiches and scalloped potatoes:

Jason informed me he had to have scalloped potatoes and ham on Easter, so this is what we came up with!

Tonight we were able to attend Easter service as a family. There is no nursery in the evening so we knew it would be an adventure. We ended up sitting in the "cafe" in the back (where our financial peace classes are) so Amelia could crawl around and talk as she pleased. They had the service projected on a screen back there:

It was nice, however, we missed communion as a result of being so secluded. By the time we got into the sanctuary the trays had already gone around. They did communion a little different this time so everyone could do it together (except us!).

When we got home we took a family picture outside:

Then we went on a post-church walk!

It was so nice out still so we had to take advantage of the remaining daylight. We also tried to get a good picture of Amelia in her Easter dress from her Grandma Rude but we just didn't have much luck. This one is ok, except she is not looking!

This one is ok, except she is sitting!

Here she is with her first Easter basket (we didn't give her one last year):

Of course, she went straight for the books!

This picture just cracks me up:

She is her father's daughter. That is all I have to say about that one!

Me and my girl:

After Amelia was in bed Jason and I had some of our Easter cake:

We hope everyone had a great weekend!
