39 Weeks "Overdue"

Yesterday I was 39 weeks and was scheduled for induction due to a history of "infant macrosomia" - aka big baby. On Tuesday at my regular OB appointment it was discovered that I am not dilated at all. This didn't surprise me at all since I was 9 days late with Amelia and still at zero centimeters when they induced me. I explained this to my current doctor but she wouldn't budge - so another week we wait. I am almost certain I will still be a zero next week but only time will tell.

My ankles (or lack there of) are quite a sight these days:

Tonight my sister said, "no offense but your feet are gross." She's right so I couldn't be mad.

Since midway through this pregnancy I have had carpal tunnel and since Labor Day weekend it has left me with numb hands - fingers in particular. I am typing this using the only three fingers I have sensation in these days. The rest tingle. You can understand the lack of blogging the past few months I am sure...

We are just taking things a day at a time and hoping baby boy decides to join us sooner rather than later!

Pregnancy Update

I am 27 weeks and 5 days pregnant so it seemed about time for an update before I hit the third trimester!

Things are going well. We are having some heat this week up here. We are under an extreme heat advisory until mid-week and it has not been fun so far. Today the heat index was up to 111! Last night I felt flu-like and it was likely from the heat.

My cravings this time have been salads and most recently stuffed peppers! We made some two weekends ago and I am thinking we will make them again before North Hudson's Pepper Festival where I will have them yet again!

Here is a comparison picture:

I think I look pretty much the exact same size as I was with Amelia at this point with baby boy!

Baby BOY

I've been MIA for quite awhile...lack of Internet will do that!

The BIG news is that:

Amelia is going to be a BIG sister!

I am over halfway there already at 21 weeks and 5 days.

My weight gain has been minimal so far which is the exact opposite of my pregnancy with Amelia! I have only gained about 7 pounds so far.

Today was the big ultrasound. I had my first 3-D imaging done which was pretty cool.

The doctor was kind enough to print a shot of boy parts for Jason since he wasn't able to come with to the appointment!

(look in the bottom left corner and there are two legs and a penis. You are looking from beneath if that helps anyone...)

I found a fun way to tell Jason it was a boy. I wrapped up a hammer rattle and baseball sleeper for him to open after work:

I of course don't have a lot of time to blog so I will end with a short video from the 3-D ultrasound that the doctor made for Jason to see:

I'm hoping to start getting online more as the summer progresses. Hopefully it happens :)

One Year Ago

One year ago I was admitted to the hospital in early labor. Soon after I was hooked up to pitocin to speed things up since Amelia was already nine days late.

Baby Update...

There is still not much to update...
I went to the doctor again this morning and I am still not dilated! I am getting really anxious. I find that I am not sleeping a lot anymore and that is in turn making me very irritable and/or sensitive, I cry very easily right now. The doctor reminded me that not being dilated doesn't mean I won't have a baby soon. Women can go from no dilation to the delivery room in just a couplle of days. I am glad that she reminded me of that!
I am just about finished with working for now. I work tomorrow and Saturday, fairly short shifts, and then I am not scheduled anymore because my "due" date is Monday. The doctor said that if I need to be induced, that would happen the 25th or 26th, while she is out of town in Hawaii. So...please pray that this baby decides to be born within the next week because I do not want to be off of work and home for almost two weeks waiting and I also do not want to have to be induced and have a new doctor deliver my baby because mine gets to be on the beach in Hawaii!!!

39 Weeks

Today I am 39 weeks and READY to be done! I am ready to be able to sleep on my stomach again!

Same as usual, not much has happened around here the past week. We are just waiting and waiting for labor to begin. The nursery is basically finished. I want to post some pictures of it, but I need some help getting the cradle out so that the room is not so full. The cradle is just being stored in there for the time being, it will be next to our bed once she is here so that when she wakes for a feeding etc I can grab her and just sit up in bed and tend to her needs :)
Tomorrow is laundry day, Wednesday is grocery shopping day. See? Not much is new around here, just the same old same old.
Hopefully next time I post I will have some great news!

Bottoms Up!

Firstly, please ignore the terrible pun in the title of this entry...BUT...
Today it was confirmed that our baby is head down and no longer breech! (Hence, the 'bottoms up' remark) I am very relieved to not have to be discussing c-sections any longer!
My due date has been pushed up a couple of days based on the measurements taken today and the new "due" date is February 16th (vs. the 18th).

This is a picture from this morning of what I am looking like at 37 weeks and full-term!(I have cropped my head out of it because I look very tired...)
Any day now and Amelia could be entering our lives :)

Alive and Well

Hey!
We are doing well still. I have not had much time or energy to get on the computer for very long, which is why there have been no updates :)
Last Wednesday I officially started the ninth month and am getting anxious to meet our little girl. The doctor says that she thinks the baby is no longer breech (FINALLY) and after the ultrasound at the hospital on Monday we will know for sure. Keep your fingers crossed!
I am still working as much as I can but I am not sure how much longer I will be able to do so. I don't like sitting at home by myself, so working is great. Plus, we definately benefit from me working as long as I can.
The nursery is finally starting to look like a nursery and no longer a room full of baby stuff. Things are getting put away and organized and it is really shaping up! Once I am a little more satisfied with it I will take some pictures and post them.
For now we are just taking things a day at a time and I am trying to remember to get some rest when I can.
