Molly

Last week we said goodbye to our friend, Molly.

The night before I went to Wendy's and got the ol' girl a special dinner...a bacon cheeseburger and some fries. She gobbled it up in no time!

Sometimes when I ask Amelia where her dog is (I actually asking about her Slinky dog from Toy Story) she runs around but other than that she has no idea - for that I am thankful. She loved that dog!

Out of the Darkness 2010

(Liz, I swiped this from FB...I thought it was a good picture to start off the post with!)

This past Sunday, Jason's sister, Liz, participated in the 2010 Out of the Darkness walk at Como Park. Two members of Jason and Liz's family, including their dad, have taken their lives so this cause is something very important to her and hopefully Jason and I can participate next year with her!

Jason and I were unable to join her and a few other friends who did the walk but Amelia and I went over to her house in the evening for some dinner and fun!

Amelia got spend some more time with the puppies which aren't really puppy size anymore! She even shared her drink with Pecan:

It was pretty cute :) Even when it was kennel time for the puppies she was with them!

She also tried to bring them with her everywhere:

As you can imagine, she didn't get too far with them ;)

We had a great night and the food was awesome! We are proud of Liz for fundraising and getting involved with this foundation and also for Marie, Molly and Katie who did the walk with her!

Hopefully we will be able to participate next year!

Puppy Fever

Ok, I have a few more puppy pictures...

It's safe to say that these two have puppy fever...one more than the other but we are not getting a dog! Not yet at least...

They are pretty cute :)

Saturday Fun

We had another full day here. I worked the 4 AM shift again this morning and Jason has been at work since 8 AM. He is working a double. Grandpa Peterson had his first try at watching Amelia this morning after Jason left and I wasn't home yet. It went well!

Amelia and I napped together again this afternoon which I am loving. After our nap we got ready and met Liz and Kory to head over to a graduation party at the marina for Robert (Liz and Jason's cousin). Before we left we introduced Amelia to one of Liz and Kory's new puppies, Pecan.

Amelia really wasn't a fan. She kept trying to push Pecan off her lap. Luckily she wasn't able to! At the marina, Amelia found an air vent and stood right on it, blowing her skirt up:

After the graduation party we all headed back to grandpa's house to take a swim! Not before Amelia ran through the house with a few of the Mardi Gras beads she has been collecting.

She is so silly! We didn't swim too long since the pool area was in the shade since it was evening. The puppies joined us. I want one!!!

Sorry for all the puppy pictures but aren't they adorable! They are all miniature Dachshunds. Here's Amelia and the puppy parents aka Auntie Liz and Uncle Kory:

After swimming we went on a walk with my family to the playground and to get ice cream. As always, she had a blast!

Amelia is a little wired right now, probably because of the ice cream. She is all over and into everything at nana's house right now! Hopefully she crashes soon!

We hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Walking the Dog

Last night on our way home, Amelia and I stopped at Liz and Kory's. Amelia was tired and didn't last too long but she did walk Cashew around the yard a little bit!

Cashew kept running out of the picture so we locked his leash at a shorter distance for her.

Amelia and Cashew have a pretty good time together!

Cashew

Liz and Kory have a mini dachshund named Cashew. He and Amelia are becoming good buddies. Whenever we get to their house, Cashew is on the defensive at first and barks and Amelia cries. They even switch roles sometimes and Cashew is afraid of her!

Eventually they warm up to each other and it is so cute!

Cashew is the official diaper checker now. He follows Amelia around with his nose glued to her butt!

Jason and I have puppy-fever now! We decided that we can/will get a puppy once we own our own home. We have pretty much decided we will be getting a mini dachshund!
